UX Consultant

We are looking for User Experience Consultants who are comfortable working across the full user-centred research and design process.


About the role

We are looking for User Experience Consultants who are comfortable working across the full user-centred research and design process, and possess the perfect balance of creative, communication and analytical research skills.

For the foreseeable future this role will be remote, but the successful candidate will need to attend meetings and conduct research at our London or Sheffield offices, in addition to clients’ offices as required.

Overall job purpose

  • Liaising with clients to understand their business objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Developing and conducting appropriate research to deliver actionable insights for clients through a range of methodologies including survey, depth interviews, usability testing, card sorting, competitor reviews, personas, journey mapping and expert evaluations.
  • Analysing research to identifiy problems and opportunities for product or service improvements.
  • Making recommendations and confidently communicating these to product and design teams through a variety of formats such as written reports and visualisations.
  • Creating wireframes using Axure, Invision and Sketch.
  • Leading collaborative workshops with clients to support them in developing and implementing solutions.
  • Project management of research studies, including liaising with key stakeholders and planning project timescales
  • Working with research participant recruitment teams to identify representative users of a product or service.
  • Representing our company as thought leaders by delivering talks at industry events.
  • Contributing blog posts about research work conducted and best practise.
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation and business development within our company.

Requirements

Desired skills and experience

  • 1-3 years’ commercial experience in a UX design research role and ideally 1 years’ experience, full-time within an established agency/ consultancy.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field (preferable but not required)
  • Experienced in a variety of user research methods, for example; survey, depth interviews, usability testing, card sorting, competitor reviews, personas, journey mapping and expert evaluations.
  • Experienced in executing, analysing and reporting on findings from research studies.
  • Experienced in creating prototypes in Axure and Sketch.
  • Experienced in leading collaborative workshops (collaborative ideation workshop experience is desirable).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Confident and experienced in stakeholder management.
  • Excellent at time-management and experience of project managing user research studies.
  • A proactive problem solver with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Experienced in specifying research participant recruitment criteria.
  • Excellent at communicating an in-depth knowledge of the user centred design process.
